The Machias Historical Society
The Machias Historical Society was established on April 27, 2004 with twelve local residents. They continued to have organizational meetings and by June 10, 2004 the first public meeting was held in conjunction with the Margaretta Days Festival at the University of Maine at Machias. On July 20, 2004 the first officers were elected and the by-laws were ratified. We've been growing ever since!
